My name is Thomas Cross, and this is my portfolio.

I live in Omaha, Nebraska, and work as a software engineer, CTO, founder, and product builder. I currently serve as CTO and co-founder of DispoRx, run upCaret, and build products including Cently and Chazown. I have more than 15 years of experience shipping and operating software systems. I started by learning Linux system administration, then found port forwarding and DNS, and quickly had a “website in my basement” before I graduated high school. After that, Linux, the internet, HTTP, and programming became my obsessions.

I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with an emphasis on internet systems and parallel computation. I worked for the university in Student Enrollment Services as a web developer, helping migrate sites from a Windows stack to a LAMP stack with a custom MVC environment. My senior year, I participated in an independent study about combinatorial algorithms on GPUs.

I have a track record of building and leading full-stack software across ecommerce, payments, insurance, ministry, healthcare, and AI products. I have worked on marketplace and mobile commerce at Hayneedle, payment infrastructure at ACI Worldwide, insurance SaaS at CSG Actuarial and Insurance Toolkits, platform reliability at Life.Church, and current products through DispoRx, upCaret, Cently, and Chazown. I am comfortable shaping the architecture, writing the code, leading the work, and keeping systems healthy after they ship.
